We had a two night stay at the Golden Lion.The room was clean and tidy with great views of the market place and the hills.The staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. Nothing was too much trouble.Tess looked after us well and remembered to ask about the wedding we were attending.We will return. - Julie W

Tess was absolutely excellent, an all round great hostess. The room was a newly decorated and very smart, a couple of problems though, the sink and shower both leaked and not enough plugs, could have done with some by bed and by mirror. Breakfast was excellent, bar food was good. Only criticism would of been as you walked into the golden lion a lot of customers stood in doorway smoking, that was hard to get past and not nice for non smokers… a sign may help to not stand in doorway smoking as they’re is plenty of lovely outside space and seats to sit and smoke. But a very central nice hotel.- S R
